Mr. Ackerman held several positions with the INS Council of the American Federation of Government Employees. As a union official, Mr. Ackerman represented federal employees in grievances, arbitrations, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Hearings, and Merit Systems Protection Board Hearings.

In 1991, Mr. Ackerman earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University, Los Angeles, California. In 1992, Mr. Ackerman established the Law Offices of Ronald P. Ackerman in Culver City, California representing primarily, federal employees in all matters related to employment with the Federal Government. Mr. Ackerman has handled hundreds of matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, and the Office of Personnel Management.
